Western Hills is home to three specific Special Education programs. First, we have the Resource & Content-Mastery Program, with additional in-class support services. Additionally, we have the PASS (Positive Approach to Student Success) program; which provides explicit social skills and emotional regulation learning and support. Lastly, our campus has a Functional Academics (FA) program for eligible students served in grades K-5. In addition to these specific programs, students who receive Speech services and/or any other eligible services through IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) are served within WHES and/or TISD.
The Temple ISD Special Education department works to ensure that the individual needs of each child are addressed so that all of our students can become healthy, productive members of the community. Students benefit when there is strong collaboration between home and school, so we encourage families to stay in contact with your child’s teachers.
