Hundreds of young readers filled the Temple High School library Friday for the third annual Bluebonnet Extravaganza.

The three-hour event rewarded students who have read at least five of this year’s Texas Bluebonnet Books with games, crafts and other activities.

The Temple Daily Telegram wrote an article featuring the many extracurricular clubs and activities we offer at WHES. Mrs. Cook states that the clubs are important to give students ownership and pride in their school; as well as foster their unique abilities and skills.

Our etiquette club was featured in the news. Parent volunteer, Angela Tyree saw a need for the club after visiting the campus on several occasions. She was trained by the American School of Protocol in Atlanta, Georgia and has taught the class in the private sector on many occasions. This year we allowed all the students in gardening club to help grow the giant cabbages given to us by Bonnie Plants. They ranged in size from 3/4 of a pound to 10 1/2 pounds!
