If you need to register your child for school, have any other school related business, or would just like to tour a Temple ISD campus and find out what a specific school offers, all Temple ISD campuses will open for business on Monday, August 8. You can contact the front office at (254)215-5600.

The Temple Independent School District School Nutrition department will continue to participate in the Summer Feeding Program. The program will begin Monday, June 6, 2016 through August 10, 2016 (Monday thru Friday). Meals at school sites will be prepared and served on locations. Wilson Park and local parks, meals will be delivered each day. Closed July 4th. For more information contact our office at 254-215-6523.

We had a wonderful time at Field Day. Thanks to Ralph Wilson Youth Club for allowing us to use your facility, thanks to the WHES PTO for purchasing games and supplies, and lastly a huge thank you to Coach Moten and Coach Hendy for planning an outstanding event!

The honor choir put on a wonderful performance last night and the family math & technology night was a great success! The Buy One Get One Free Book Fair also had a wonderful turn-out. Thank you Ms. Knott, Mrs. Donofrio, all K-5 teachers, students, and parents! Click on the news article to see a video highlighting the events of the night!

The Western Hills Library Buy One Get One Book Free Fair will be held Monday-Friday, May 16-20. We will be open late on Tuesday, May 17th from 5:30 to 7:00pm, during Family Technology & Math Night. Cash, credit cards and checks (payable to Western Hills) are accepted. We have gift certificates available if you would like to donate to a teacher. Gift certificates are available up at the register in any amount you would like.

5th grade math and science students will participate in a STEM (science technology engineering math) extravaganza for the next few weeks. We give our students real world problems that they will need to collaborate, create and design solutions for. We have an exciting line up this year including stomp rockets, egg drop, Rube Goldberg Machines, peppermint racers, NASA Mars Rover explorations and more!

Please remember that 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students are STAAR testing this week. Today, 3rd and 4th grade students took the math test and tomorrow they will take the reading test. On Wednesday, 5th grade students will take the science test. Per state guidelines, we cannot allow any visitors or lunch guests on testing days. Please be sure that your students get a good night of sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. Our school cafeteria offers free breakfast for all students. Go Roadrunners!

Mrs. Macal asked several students to share their favorite thing about their teachers. Their responses were wonderful and entertaining. We appreciate you WHES teachers and staff!
