The Lamar M.S. band & choir visited 5th grade students on Wednesday morning to showcase a few of the extracurricular activities available to them in middle school. One 5th grader was even chosen to serve as the "guest conductor" while the Lamar fight song was played. Thanks to the band, choir, and staff members of Lamar Middle School for visiting our students!

Students from Mrs. Ferree's Kindergarten class granted Safyre Terry's Christmas wish. You may have seen Safyre's story on the news. She is the only survivor of an arson fire that destroyed her home and claimed the lives of her father and siblings two years ago. This year she has requested to receive Christmas cards from around the world. Mrs. Ferree read Safyre's story to her class and they made gingerbread house cards with the message "Merry Christmas from Texas!" Click to read the original report from CBS News.

Students in grades K-3 are invited to attend the first annual "Sleepy-Time Story" event this Saturday December 12th in the Western Hills library from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Wear your comfortable pajamas and bring your Christmas cheer! We will enjoy hot chocolate, crafts, and a read aloud of the book, "A Christmas Wish." Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the entire event.

The WHES Dance Team had a float in the annual City of Temple Christmas Parade.

Students who achieved perfect attendance, outstanding behavior, and excellent academics for the 2nd six weeks grading period were rewarded with an incentive trip to Ralph Wilson Youth Club today. All students are eligible to receive this prestigious honor each six weeks, so keep up the hard work Roadrunners! What a way to end the week before Thanksgiving break. Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
