Many thanks to the Temple Police Department and Ms. Hadley for teaming up to provide students who are involved in Communities in Schools with ID cards. Check out the article published by Temple Daily Telegram.

Students who earned the Western Hills Outstanding Citizen Award traveled to Ralph Wilson Youth Club on Friday October 16th. The qualifications for receiving the outstanding citizen award include perfect attendance, no discipline referrals and passing all classes during each six weeks grading period. At the youth club, students enjoyed playing indoor and outdoor games as well as enjoying a picnic style hot dog lunch. All students will have a chance to earn the outstanding citizen award for the second six weeks grading period. A huge thank you goes out to the staff at Ralph Wilson Youth Club for your partnership in recognizing our outstanding citizens!

Fundraiser packets and money were due on Tuesday October 13th. If you have not already done so, please turn in your packet and money as soon as possible. We appreciate your involvement and support!

The 1st six weeks star student lunch was held today. This lunch honored those students who did an outstanding job of displaying the character trait for September, Self-Confidence.

Wow! What an exciting morning we had with our 1st six weeks Rocking Roadrunner Awards! Several students, parents and teachers were recognized for their outstanding achievements.

Kindergarten and 1st grade students spent the morning learning about fire safety with Coach Buzz and Fireman Blaze from the Temple Fire Department.

Check out the attached P.E. calendar from Coach Moten. Each day has a suggested health or physical activity for you to do at home with your children.

Western Hills Elementary will be participating in the BOOK IT! program sponsored by Pizza Hut. BOOK IT! runs every school year from October through March. The teacher sets a reading goal for each child in the class. As soon as a child meets the monthly reading goal, the teacher recognizes him or her with a Reading Award Certificate. Parents, you can help by tracking the time your child spends reading at home. Check out the BOOK IT! website or visit with our campus Librarian to learn more.

Kindergarten students enjoyed learning about Fire Engines and the job of a Firefighter this morning. Thank you Temple Fire Department!

The Western Hills Sportstacking Team received high honors at the tournament held at Temple High on Saturday October 3rd.
